The project is going to be the cultural center of Zhengzhou city, Henan province, China. The existing buildings will be a complete reconstruction of the exterior façade and interior space. The complex will include the following functional zones: Art Museum, Conference hall, Multimedia Presentation hall, Library, Café shop, Library, Relax zone, Administrative area and technical facilities. The museum will be used for history related exhibitions. The main emphasis are the three-dimensional surfaces that make contact with the existing structure of the building. Controlled through special software the color of these surfaces can be changed, and thus can create different feeling for the visitors. On the first floor the area of the café shop and the library are combined. Elliptical wooden elements start from the floor and scatter to the ceiling and create a feeling of lightness and flight. The main used materials in the project are: gray concrete, wood and aged metal.
